Stained Glass Classes

There are two basic methods used to assemble stained glass panels: copper foiled and leaded.

Louis C. Tiffany used the copper foil method of assembly starting in the late 1800’s. With this technique, pieces of glass are wrapped with very thin and narrow strips of copper and then soldered together to form a solid panel.

The original method, developed centuries ago, uses strips of channeled lead called,“lead came.” The lead came is bent and cut at different angles to join the pieces together forming a solid panel.

Our mission is to give you, the student, the knowledge and confidence to continue to create stained glass projects on your own and to provide continued support for your stained glass ambitions with a professional facility, offering a wide range of services and supplies.

Beginner

Beginner

Our beginner course teaches the basic skills and introduces the necessary tools and equipment to complete a stained glass panel. Panels are assembled using the copper foil method. Students are given complete control of their project. You get to choose from many different designs and our large selection of glass. Students receive one on one attention and complete their project at their own pace.

Intermediate

The intermediate course enhances the skills acquired in the Beginner course, and teaches the original method of assembly, using lead came. As in the Beginner course, students receive one on one instruction and have complete control of their project.
